Did you know that Chocolate began as beer? That's right, cacao beans were first used as food in the making of ceremonial fermented drinks for Mesoamerican elites about 3,100 years ago. This is a pretty appropriate thing for me to have read as I just got my mitts on a bottle of Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence and I'm looking forward to posting about that, too.
