More on Guinness

A little surfing this morning about the magical properties of Guinness (brilliant!), and I found some interesting links to add to my previous entry about Guinness' relatively healthy properties.

  • Do bubbles in Guinness really go down? The answer (explained here) is yes, thanks to circulation in the glass.
  • Guinness is intentionally "soured" using Lactobacillus. I can't immediately locate a link to prove this, but there is a Brewing Techniques article that describes the souring process used during brewing.
Well, live cultures or not, I'm planning to enjoy a Guinness at some point today.

Slainte!
