Syracuse Beer Week Continues
I haven't had time to keep things updated here, but this article about Syracuse Beer Week events is just right for this site. What a great idea - get out there and support local brewers, retailers, pubs, and educators. We have a strong beer-related scene here with a lot of economic activity.

Madison County Hop Fest Brew Dinner Details Set
The annual Madison County Historical Society's Hop Fest has finalized details for its paired brew dinner. The event will be held Friday, September 12 at Ye Olde Landmark Tavern in Bouckville, New York. Beers will be from Cooperstown Brewing; any time I see Pride of Milford on the menu I know it will be a good night... and the food looks tasty too.

Bold Belgian Brewers Buying Bud?
Belgian brewing conglomerate InBev - which already owns many major beer brands - is in "friendly" talks with Anheuser-Busch about an acquisition. It would be interesting if A-B, a venerable American company that positions its primary brands in very American ways, becomes just another brand in the InBev stable. I am no fan of A-B's beers but this is certainly newsworthy.
Also, I love many Belgian things .... but the opportunity to share this is too good to pass up (caution: objectionable to many as the topic is prejudice; Republicans may not understand why it's funny as it plays like a Republican town meeting):
